Personal Statement

Caring for patients with complex wound, ostomy, and continence needs has been a deeply rewarding part of my nursing career. As an experienced Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse Practitioner, I am passionate about helping patients heal, regain confidence, and improve their quality of life during vulnerable times.I believe in combining evidence-based care with compassion, education, and collaboration. I value building trusting relationships with patients and families, empowering them to take an active role in their care, and working closely with interdisciplinary teams to achieve the best outcomes. I am committed to continuous learning and providing thoughtful, patient-centered care that makes a meaningful difference every day.

Biographical Info

Jenny Kinder is a board-certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse Practitioner with a sincere passion for helping improve the lives of all patients she treats. She graduated with honors from Seattle University and began her nursing career in public health nursing and home care. She quickly discovered that her greatest fulfillment came from helping patients heal complex wounds and, most particularly, guiding individuals with ostomies as they adapted to life after surgery, regained confidence, and returned to living full, meaningful lives. She became a Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) through Cleveland Clinic, completing her clinical practicum at Colombia University Medical Center. Prior to joining 91̽»¨, she has practiced as a CWOCN in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings, including Lenox Hill Hospital, Visiting Nurse Health, and New York University Langone Hospital Long Island. She completed her Master of Science in Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner at Hunter College. Her expertise, combined with a compassionate, patient-centered approach, enables her to deliver individualized, evidence-based care to patients with complex medical needs. She is committed to optimizing clinical outcomes, enhancing quality of life, and supporting each patient's healing journey through comprehensive, personalized care.

Jenny is an active member of American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses Society, American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau, and Alpha Sigma Nu.

Relationships and collaborations with for-profit and not-for profit organizations are of vital importance to our faculty because these exchanges of scientific information foster innovation. As experts in their fields, WCM physicians and scientists are sought after by many organizations to consult and educate. WCM and its faculty make this information available to the public, thus creating a transparent environment.
